The Amazing Ronald Reagan

February 26, 2012:  Today my appreciation of Ronald Reagan went up another notch. Please take the time to see this short message. I was amazed!

The BelAir Presbyterian Church put this tribute together for his birthday.  As you hear his comments on religion you too will be amazed.  Where is this kind of leadership today?

Jesus promised that there will never be a dark night that does not end.  Our weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.  He promised that if our hearts are true, his love will be as sure as sunlight.   And by dying for us, Jesus showed how far our love should be ready to go... all the way.  For God so loved the world He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." -John 3:16

I haven't heard this good a sermon in many a week.

Today I am reminded it is never wrong to speak of your faith in God.  Let's read our Bibles more.

"Within the covers of that single Book are all the answers to all the problems that face us today, if we would only read and believe." -Ronald Reagan

February 27, 2012:  Are you worried about higher gasoline prices?  You should be.

Did you know that for every $1.00 increase in the price of a barrel of oil, US GDP decreases $100 billion per year!  ...you say so what?  You will feel it when you put gas into your car.

And for every one cent increase in the price of gasoline, US consumer disposable income decreases by $600 million per year.  -source: zero hedge.com

Unfortunately we have become dependant upon our cars to get around... and we all expect the food in our stores, that only gets there by some form of transportation that uses fuel.

So get prepared for another testing of higher oil prices this year... and higher gas prices at the pump.  The way I plan be ready for higher fuel prices is by investing in the Energy Sector.  Now instead of complaining about the high price of fuel at the pump I smile because we own shares in Chevron and Exxon Mobil.

This is a Lesson Learned from the last time the price of oil went from $40 to $150 a barrel.  Plan ahead and you won't be a victim in the coming crisis.

"Let our advance worrying become advance thinking and planning." -Winston Churchill

  1. I did not know that Mr. Reagan was such a man of faith. He said some very beautiful things in this video.

LIke your Mr. Churchill quote at the end. You have wisdom all over your blog today.

I like the story where the guy fills up his car, drives it until it is empty and then has to push it by hand back to where he started...all of a sudden he isn't whining about the cost of fuel.

  2. I was pleasantly surprise yesterday as I watched a memorial for a policeman on TV. One of his friends got up to make a speech and spoke only of the officers faith in God and how it affected his life and work. Was unusual to hear even the news commentators uttering the name of Jesus. People are actually getting bolder and more confident about their faith and are speaking about it more and more.
